Tiny Core Linux Part 7 – More Mysql corruption

Next power cut and same problem with mysql not restarting and index corruption. I was able to delete the index files (/usr/local/mysql/data/ib_logfile… and /usr/local/mysql/ibdata…), start the service and restore from backup using the command below.

mysql -u root -p[root_password] [database_name] < dumpfilename.sql

According to the help documentation at http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.6/en/crashing.html, starting the service with –flush option should avoid the problem so I will try that and see!

UPDATE – It does indeed work and my machine rebooted without issue after a power cut last night. I’ll update the WordPress HowTo accordingly.
